| August 1938 | Iwatsu Electric Co., Ltd. founded in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. |
| 1943 | New headquarters opened in Kugayama, Tokyo, Japan. |
| 1952 | Start of sales of IWATSU's first oscilloscope. The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (the new AIST) approved a bounty for an impulse radiation wave idea and IWATSU developed its first oscilloscope in 1954 (trademark registered as SYNCHROSCOPE). |
| 1957 | Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in the first section. |
| 1960 | IWATSU's new factory for test & measuring equipment starts operations. |
| 1961 | IWATSU's first oscilloscope CRT developed and manufactured. |
| 1962 | IWATSU's first IC developed and manufactured. |
| 1969 | Listed on the Osaka Stock Exchange in the first section. |
| 1970 | The first domestic all-IC oscilloscope is launched. |
| 1974 | An IWATSU subsidiary, Colona-Denshi Co., Ltd., is established as a factory for testing & measuring equipment, and is renamed as IWATSU TEST INSTRUMENTS WORKS CO., LTD. |
| 1979 | An IWATSU subsidiary, IWATSU TECHNICA CO., LTD., is established for testing & measuring equipment design, and is renamed as IWATSU TECHNOSYSTEM CO., LTD. in 1992. |
| 1985 | An IWATSU subsidiary, TI MEASURING CORPORATION, is established for testing & measuring equipment sales, and is renamed as INTEC MEASURING CO., LTD. |
| 1988 | IWATSU's 50th. Anniversary exhibition takes place at the Science Museum, Tokyo. |
| 1991 | An IWATSU overseas affiliate company, Iwatsu Malaysia Sdn., Bhd., is established. |
| 1993 | Agreement for Sales tie-in with LeCroy Japan Corp.; sales start in 1994 and continue thereafter. |
| 1994 | 40-year anniversary of oscilloscope sales. |
| 1997 | Testing & measuring equipment business starts operations as the TME division. |
| 1999 | The Waverunner LT series of digital oscilloscopes, jointly developed with LeCroy (US), is launched. IWATSU receives ISO9001/ISO14001 certification. |
| 2000 | An IWATSU subsidiary, IWATSU TME SERVICE CO., LTD., is established for testing & measuring equipment after-sales. |
| 2002 | The unique
1GHz bandwidth analog storage oscilloscope, the TS-81000, is launched. Iwatsu separates its TME business to create Iwatsu Test Instruments Corporation. Fukushima Iwatsu, a manufacturing subsidiary of Iwatsu, spins off its TME manufacturing operation and Iwatsu Test Instruments Works Corporation is established. |
| 2004 | 50-year
anniversary of oscilloscope sales. Iwatsu Test Instruments Works Corp., Iwatsu TME Services Co., Ltd. and Iwatsu Technosystem Co., Ltd. merge to form Iwatsu Test Instruments Corp. |
